A special opportunity for practitioners, researchers, and administrators to address the needs and improve the education of Native American children Twenty-two sovereign American Indian communities currently inhabit Arizona, representing a wealth of cultural diversity. In fact, the state has the second largest American Indian population in the U.S. where the majority of the Navajo Nation, the largest Native American reservation, and the entire Tohono O'odham Nation, the second largest, are located. This makes Arizona an appropriately fitting location to host a program focused on Native American students, an under-researched and underserved population in the field.
